President’s Day, observed on the third Monday of February, is more than just a day to honor leaders- it’s a reminder of the values that built America. Originally established as Washington’s Birthday in 1885, it evolved into recognizing all U.S. presidents and their contributions in shaping our nation.

At its core, President’s Day is about unity, brotherhood, and love. Love for our country, love for our fellow Americans, and love for the principles that define us. Throughout history, the greatest leaders have called on us to come together, stand strong despite differences, and uphold the ideals of freedom.

The freedoms we have as U.S. citizens offer great privilege, not a sense of entitlement. America is known as the land of opportunity, not of opportunists. Categorizing or labeling ourselves and others doesn’t help break down barriers. We all stand to live a more meaningful life if our focus is on fostering and maintaining genuine, heart-based connections with each other.

We the people are one- united by a shared history, a common purpose, and a love for the nation we call home. By taking personal responsibility and focusing on what unites us rather than what divides us and choosing love over division and unity over discord, we honor the legacy of those who came before us and paved a stronger, more compassionate America for us. One that we freely enjoy this very moment. One that all generations will also enjoy.
