Glass bottles and jars have a quiet magic about them. Once intended to be disposable… who knew we would use and reuse them or that they would carry such charm? Whether perched on a windowsill, gathered on a shelf, or repurposed outdoors, these everyday vessels have a way of catching light, holding memories, and adding character wherever they land.

Indoors, they serve practical purposes, but glass bottles and jars double as effortless décor. Clear,  softly tinted or deeply colored- they work beautifully as vases for fresh stems, holders for paintbrushes or wooden utensils, or simply grouped together for their shape, boldness or subtleness. Outdoors, they take on new life: planted with herbs, turned into lanterns, or used to hold cuttings and seedlings in the garden. The beauty is in their simplicity and versatility. So yes… we do have a way to “bottle  things up and save them forever”.

One thing our customers often mention is the music playing while they browse — a familiar backdrop of 60s, 70s, and 80s favorites that sets an easy, nostalgic pace. And every so often, a song comes on that feels especially fitting. Jim Croce’s “Time in a Bottle” is one of those moments- a gentle reminder of holding onto time, memories, and the small things that matter.

That sentiment pairs beautifully with one of our favorite upcycling ideas: photo bottle keepsakes. A printed image rolled gently inside a bottle, paired with a handwritten note or date, charms, or anything else uou want to add, becomes a keepsake- a moment quite literally saved in in a bottle. It’s a simple project, but one filled with meaning.
