Did you know Father’s Day originated in 1910? Ironically, the same year Hallmark began.

Hallmark was born out of a teenage girl’s big dream and two shoeboxes of picture postcards. Kudos to Joyce Hall from Kansas City, MO, for finding a thoughtful way to express and convey loving, cheerful & funny messages.

Father’s Day was inspired by Sonora Smart Dodd in 1910, after listening to a sermon about Mother’s Day. She created the holiday to recognize her father, William Jackson Smart, a Civil War veteran, widower, and single dad to six children. She held the first Father’s Day celebration at the local YMCA in West Virginia. Pretty smart idea Señora Smart, and a very nice way to honor thy Dodd 💡and have some fun at the 🙅🏻‍♂️🙆🏻‍♂️🙋🏻‍♂️🙎🏻‍♂️(Closest YMCA emojis🤣 ).
